I chose to watch an extra credit video (for my environmental class) with a fellow classmate of mine in one of the secluded and private media rooms in the library. She clearly pointed it out to me that she was a tofu-eating, animal-loving, peace-supporter vegetarian or vegan, whichever. Without knowing what video we were watching and without any food in my stomach that morning, I walked in to the room with my classmate ready to take notes and get these extra points.
Diet for A New America. The video was about how Americans should eat less meat. And as much as I disapprove animal torture for our meat satisfaction I sure was hungry as hell halfway through the video. As they were showing cows, chickens and pigs trapped in farmhouses transitioning to pictures of burgers, hotdogs and steaks, they accomplished a couple things. First, they proved a point how nasty we are when it comes to meat production and second they stimulated my craving for a good In-N-Out burger which lead to my loud stomach grumblings.
Lessons of the day: (1) Eat less meat america! (2) Don’t watch a video showing animal killings for meat patties when you are starving, especially with a clearly offended vegetarian.
